Fixolong's unique design safeguards against inadvertant withdrawal of the peripheral catheter due to patient movement. Additionally, with Fixolong the likelihood of kinking of the catheter is reduced, thereby reducing the risk of obstruction of flow of anesthetic.
The fastening system consists of the base circular adhesive bandage with integral catheter cross with fastening clips through which the catheter is threaded.
A filter adapter - housing the flat filter - is snapped on over the bandage/clip assembly. The filter in its housing rotates, while the catheter is freely advanced or retracted until secured.
