Plexolong Set acc. to Maerz
The Plexolong Catheter Set offers the opportunity of establishing deep introduction of a plexus catheter (f) for continuous plexus anaesthesia. The needle(d,c), sheathed in its plastic cannula(b) is inserted into the patient. Using electro needle stimulation the nerve is located. Once the needle is removed – leaving the plastic cannula in place – the flexible tipped guide wire(a) is placed through the plastic cannula(b) into the neural sheath. The catheter can now be placed "over" the guide wire ala the Seldinger approach. Following withdrawal of the guide wire, the catheter is in place to offer continuous control into the post-operative period.
Components
(a) Plastic coated Guide wire with flexible tip. 47cm, graduated.
(b) Plastic cannula. Fits coaxially over Plexolong Stimulation needle (c) . Provides means to introduce guide wire.
(c) Plexolong Stimulation Needle, 18G x 2 inch, with short bevel point and electrical connection. Injection access is provided by Luer lock Hub/connector complete with locking cap (d).
(e) Flexible connection cable, 40cm long—the optimum distance to the non–sterile area.
(f) Plexolong catheter, 18G x 35cm, with Integrated connector.
