Echogenic Stimulong TSUI METHOD –  The first Echogenic Stimulating Catheter

Dr. Ban C.H. Tsui, in co-operation with Pajunk GmbH, has developed and patented a catheter kit that expands the scope of treatment in peripheral and epidural regional anesthesia through its versatile functionalities:

Stimulong's unique internal spiral design enables clear viewing of the catheter under ultrasound. View movie.

The utilization of a metal stylet, if necessary, provides the required stiffness for ease of insertion and advancement of the catheter

Used to conduct the Tsui-Test, which, with the aid of the stimulating Catheter together with ultrasonic guidance of an injection of glucose mixture, allows for the exact determination of the catheter position.

Able to trace the spread of the injected solutions accurately with the aid of a NERVE STIMULATOR, both in the epidural and peripheral space.

Stimulong Plus Echogenic Catheter

Atraumatic, soft catheter tip avoids injuring the tissue. Additionally, integral electrical plug for direct connection to nerve stimulator enables catheter tip to be electrically stimulated for precise localization in the peripheral or epidural space.

STEEL STYLET

A steel stylet, which can be introduced or retracted as required, provides the catheter with the necessary stiffness along its complete length.

________

INJECTION
Peripheral
5% glucose solution (D5W)
•enlarges/expands the perineural space and eases the onward progression of the catheter
• induces motoric response, which can be continuously monitored
• path for D5W can be traced up to the peripheral nerve by means of ultrasonic surveillance.

Epidural
Inject with Saline solution.
